Olympic great SHIRLEY STRICKLAND DE LA HUNTY has been remembered as a woman who poured
her heart, courage and incisive intellect into everything she did.

Hundreds of friends, family and fans have packed Perth's St George's Cathedral to farewell
the three-time Olympic champion with a state funeral.

DE LA HUNTY died last week aged 78.

She was only woman in Australian sporting history to win back-to-back gold medals on the track.
