Against the euro, the Aussie is buying 59.60 euro cents.

Against the kiwi the local dollar is buying 1.2022 NZ dollars.

The Aussie is buying 36.91 British pence.

Yesterday, the benchmark S&P/ASX 200 closed 26.3 points LOWER at 3352.8, while theall ordinaries index TUMBLED 25.0 points to 3304.2.

Gold in New York FELL $US0.60 to close at $US311.50 an ounce.
