Vic: Calls for shorter gambling hours after baby death

MELBOURNE, Feb 22 AAP - An anti-gambling campaigner today called for restricted hours
for gaming venues after the death of a 19-month-old boy whose mother had left him in a
blazing hot car as she gambled.

Police estimated temperatures in the car reached more than 60 degrees Celsius as the
mother gambled at the 24-hour Ferntree Gully hotel last Wednesday morning.

After a week-long struggle for life, the boy died at Royal Children's Hospital last night.
